They are taking the restaurant in a direction that people just don't understand and as a result the corporate level people need to listen to their customers better instead of the younger personnel they have hired in the home office that obviously have for no clue how they got where they are nor are interested in it's future with some of the changes they have made and continue to make.

The waitress did her job. She needed some instruction on greeting her customers at the table. I had the baked chicken special of the day. The chicken was dry and served at room temperature. Grilled mushrooms were a misnomer. They were simmered in a juice. Again, it was served at room temperature as was the whole meal. I suspect that all was cooked the day before except the bread. I have eaten at several Cracker Barrel restaurants with varying qualities of good, but this is the first review I have submitted. I must say that the cashier was most pleasant and friendly.

They have deleted one of the most popular salad dressings while eliminating red onions totally from salads as well as eliminating iceberg lettuce which is unheard of when not at least offering it as part of a salad mix or on sandwiches instead of the garbage leafs they now place on thier sandwiches and in salads. They place wilted leaf lettuce on burgers that taste terrible and take away from the overall quality. There were other meals that red onions and iceberg lettuce once came with and while this is only one minor example of many changes that they have made, none of this makes any sense whatsoever. There are a lot of these changes that have caused us to seek other restaurants that offer the salad selections and sandwiches we want as well as several other entrees that we can no longer get that were once served at Cracker Barrel as staples of what they had become.

Cracker Barrel is one of the Restaurants that we choose especially for breakfast anytime we travel if there is one available. One of my basic problems is that of late the so called culinary staff in the home office have chosen to change a lot of what people have come to know as basic fare at Cracker Barrel. I have spent a lifetime working as a Chef and I fail to understand a lot of the changes that these people are trying to make to one of the most highly successful restaurants of it's genre in the entire country. They choose not to listen to their customers and as a result they are going to find over the long term that they need to stick to what has always worked for them instead of trying to take a country style restaurant off into tangents that make absolutely no sense.

When we travel we will usually eat at least one meal at a Cracker Barrel and we know this is unusual. But I honestly hope that this gets back to company officials so they can make sure this doesn't happen again. This is a minus 1.

We stopped for dinner tonight (12/4/17) at the Cracker Barrel @8:30 in Newport, TN. We were promptly taken to a table, but that is where the service stopped. There were 4 people brought after us and we're seated to the table next to us. The waitress went right to them totally ignoring us. Took their order and went to the back and we didn't see her again. We waited until 8:50, got up and left. I told the lady who seated us: "Would you please tell the manager that they lost a customer because we were never helped after you seated us."

Had the Mommy's French Toast, it was really good as always. Bathrooms needed some assistance, but I guess it's understandable as lots of travelers stop there. Gift shop a bit dated, but they usually have a few things to peak the average persons interest whether through nostalgia or just stuff you don't see everyday. Just wish I lived closer to the Interstate as I eat there more often

Was seated immediately. Am sitting here for breakfast as we speak and so far not too good. Ordered orange juice and milk. 10 minutes later it arrived. Wife's coffee another 10 minutes. They are not that busy here. The waitress at the table next to me has her butt less than a foot from face. Been there for at least 5 minutes. It's not good looking either. They are obviously old friends. They should do their visiting on her time. Order finally arrived. Waitress had her thumb in my eggs. Overall. Food fair. Nothing special. Service very slow. Waitress at least polite but definitely not in any hurry. Needs to find another line of work Nothing special about this place. Worst CB I've ever been in. Husband and wife next to us look more like brother and sister. I'm starting to hear banjos playing. I'm outta here.
