A small restaurant with little advertising which is run almost as a hobby. All the food is fresh and cooked while you wait. If you wish Manit will come out and greet you.
I hate to be negative towards a business but to call it Thai is false advertising. They don't even serve pad thai.
I know good Thai food. You can get NYC quality Thai food in Sevierville, a half hour from Newport, with none of these hassles. Go to Thai Palace. Also home-made, better quality than this place, and a real restaurant (also family run) who understands how a business is run.
Ok place to eat, if you can find them open. Another reviewer said place was run as a hobby. It can't be run to make money or break even because they are NEVER OPEN. You can't plan an evening out because they have NO REGULAR HOURS of operation. I have driven past many, many times and they were closed. My friends joke that they are mob run or a money laundering operation because they are never open. Who runs a business like this? I've lived here 8 years and was able to eat there once.
If you get in, the food is home made. It takes a while. It's pretty good. But whatever you get is what you get. You CANNOT make requests. If you happen to be allergic to green peppers and ask they not put any in a dish, the waitress will tell you sorry, no. The cooks make what they want. You eat it. Allergies? Too bad for you.
